There is always something to do or to look forward to do. We always receive help no matter how ridiculous the question. Every occasion and holiday is celebrated, whether it be a celebration of someone turning 100 or Christmas. Each person receives quality care and attention. The staff works very hard to accommodate everyone. We are amazed they can handle so much and be so pleasant. They do a wonderful job and we are so thankful.

As we begin our 6th month at Waltonwood, we are still very pleased! The staff is terrific, our apartment is perfect and the food is very good. We have many new friends and are enjoying many of the activities that are offered! The programs offered are useful, practical and fun! We are SO glad we chose Waltonwood!

I am extremely happy with living at WW. There are numerous activities that I am involved in designed to keep me fit and interested in the activities provided. I am pleased with the servers, the cleaning ladies, and the maintenance crew. They are an essential part of why I am happy to reside here. I support the management personnel, at least the ones I have association with on a daily basis. I am fussy about the food. Breakfast is outstanding both in service and friendliness. I am critical of receiving warm not hot food but attempts are being made to correct this. Best of all, I have met residents whom I respect greatly because they are friendly and bring about associations whose lives are far removed from what I have experienced in my lifetime. For example, I had never met a Korean, and now have trusted friends who are Korean.

Last Saturday Jocelyn, our life enrichment director, ran a Camp Waltonwood event for grandkids of residents and kids of staff. It was a marvelous production: a pirate theme. The whole place was transformed into a pirate world. Wonderful activities and incredible decorations. It was terrific to see the smiles on the faces of the little ones as they enjoyed the various stations of the pirate world. What a wonder!! Thank you Jocelyn and staff.

Davis Bradley brings our Appalachian and Old Country music regularly to our Senior friends at Waltonwood. We are welcomed by big smiles, foot tapping and clapping . We love to watch Rachel & the staff dancing with the residents throughout our concert. The joy our we see on their faces fills our hearts equally.

I visit Waltonwood at Ashburn monthly with my therapy dog, Breeze, to bring smiles to the residents in Assisted Living and Memory Care. The entire staff, including Carmine and Rachel, have been so kind and welcoming to us. I can see how greatly they care for the residents in their interactions, activities and conversations. Breeze has made so many new friends and we love building connections with everyone. We always look forward to visiting!

The Waltonwood Ashburn Memory Care team has gone above and beyond in their care of my mother! She has an active life and I am so appreciative of all the fun she is having. They have learned her strengths and interests and intentionally tailor her lifestyle so that she lives her best life! Many thanks to Brenda, Rachel, Lori and the rest of the caregivers!

Very nice place to live and I like living here.

The biggest thing I noticed was the number of kids related to staff and how excited both the children and their families were to be included. It was fun to see residents come along with their grandchildren.

When my husband and I realized that we were not going to be able to live in our large house and were eventually going to need more assistance, we began to look at facilities in Northern Virginia. When we found Waltonwood, we knew that this was going to be the place for us. We have lived here for over a year and could not be any happier that we made the right choice. Waltonwood is a first-class facility with the most caring staff as well as it is also a beautiful facility. All activities are planned with the residents in mind and there seems to be some activities for everyone whether it is exercise classes, games, social get togethers, musical entertainment, history lectures, etc. But I think the thing that pleases us the most is that we are allowed to have our own schedule and fix up our apartment as our own home. It is a real community between all the residents and the staff. We feel so at home here and very well taken care of. It is a wonderful place to be living. We feel very fortunate to be here at Waltonwood.

Our Horse-assisted services organization has provided programming for Waltonwood at Ashburn for several years, and their visits are a high-light of our sessions! The love, care and respect demonstated by WW staff for each resident is truly special and moving. Hearing stories and seeing the memories flooding back from time spent on a farm or with horses is amazing. It gives such insight into each individual’s personal story that the Waltonwood staff appreciate. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, devoted, and it’s a joy to work with them to offer this experience! Can’t wait to welcome everyone back to the farm soon.

Our experience after four months has been positive. Prospective residents should be aware that most decisions appear to be made by Michigan HQ, such as whether or not to have a maintenance contract for elevators or to overnight required spare parts. As a consequence our front elevator has been out of service for two plus weeks to date, a hardship on residents with limited mobility.

My 96 year old mother who has lived at Waltonwood since 2018 was recently the honoree in a very unique initiative called Adventures by Waltonwood. This program supports a particular Waltonwood residentís life desires, dreams and special moments. My mother who is German and called Oma by everyone at WW, always loved gardening and flowers. So Rachel, the Memory Care Activities coordinator, arranged an unforgettable visit to a local flower shop where Oma was treated like a VIP allowing her to tour the shop and create her own floral creations! Oma was so happy and I think the shop manager and employees were just as excited. It was a very special day for all of us and exemplifies why we love Waltonwood.

We have excellent care here and appreciate the care all the staff shows to each of us. We just had an Elvis Presley impersonator give us a show which reminded us of our fun youth and milkshakes afterwards. Always something to look forward byline.

My wife Myra and I have been living in the Independent Living wing for 6.5 years now–since the beginning. Obviously, we are pleased with everything–the ambience, activites, staff and most of all the wonderful community of residents. Yes, the food has its ups and downs but on the whole is tasty and a cut above other IL facilities I have visited and based on comments from their residents. The chef is open to suggestions. I have gained 28 pounds, so something must be right. The other residents are friendly and like to gather in communal activities for some laughs and companionship. The best drawing card is me. I should be on the staff. :-)

Recently, Rachel Reed, Walton Woods Memory Care Life Enrichment Manager, arranged a very special event for my dad as part of their Adventure Program. My dad, is a former Golden Gloves Champion Boxer who suffers from Parkinson’s related Dementia. She arranged for him to be celebrated and honored at Title Boxing Club in Ashburn where 13-time world champion woman boxer, Tori Nelson met with him and got him into the ring to box again. She was inspirational and just an amazing person. Jeffrey Gomez who manages the Club could not have been nicer. Jose Echeverria, Walton Woods, trainer was on hand to box with dad too and even got him to sign his boxing gloves. There were local newspaper reporters and photographers there to record and publish dad’s story. The family was a little uncertain as to what to expect and so we were all a little nervous. As it turned out, this special event arranged by Walton Woods for dad, was a gift to the family and something we will never forget. We are truly grateful for all the love and support shown to our dad, by Walton Woods and to all those in the local community for a man they had never met!

I provide art therapy classes several times a month for Waltonwood and I always leave the building smiling and feeling uplifted. The building has multiple hobby rooms complete with all needed supplies and ample space for all creative activities. The staff is friendly, helpful and extremely connected to the residents. And the residents are the very BEST part. They are happy and engaged and a joy to be around.

We really enjoyed the group who came to our museum that participated in our Hello Hive program. They were engaged and curious about our bees. One of the residents enjoyed recalling their own experience growing up on a farm. We would gladly welcome you back to our museum!

I love living at Waltonwood. Friends at my previous home had either passed away or moved. Here everyone is my friend. There is so much to do. I particularly like the music programs and not having to cook. The food is very good.

Bob and I have lived in IL here at Waltonwood/Ashburn for nearly 4 years and are pleased with our decision. Staff is extremely helpful and the opportunities for making friendships are many and varied. The atmosphere is very most caring and helpful. We feel lucky to be here close to our daughters.

I have visited Waltonwood at Ashburn a couple of times recently in a volunteer capacity. I have been very impressed with the staff and facilities. The staff is very friendly and warm, and their genuine care for residents is very apparent. The building and grounds are clean and well kept. Waltonwood is a bright happy place due to all of these qualities! If I had a loved one in need of this type of residency, this is the exact type of place Iíd like them to be.
