I met with Melissa and visited Waltonwood Lakeside when I was looking for future assisted living facilities for my mom. At that time, she was going to reside with a family member until the day came when she needed more care. Melissa was warm, welcoming, and knowledgable. For the past few years, Melissa has continued to check in and see how my mom was doing. She is kind, caring and goes above and beyond. When I needed more information and answers to questions, she was always responsive and continued to be compassionate. Overall amazing experience. They are lucky to have such a wonderful person on staff.

We are so enthused about the new chapter for Mom at Waltonwood Sterling Heights. The staff, particularly Aaron and Mikaela, have been so helpful in the transition to Independent Living. We were fortunate to be able to make the move quickly with their help. They have been responsive and attentive to our questions and concerns, addressing our needs promptly and personally. Mom is 98, has been independent for a long time and feeling so comfortable in her new surroundings. She thrives in social situations but values her privacy, too. Her apartment is spacious and comfortable and safe, which is also important to us. Weíve enjoyed dinner with Mom in the dining room and lunch from the bistro. Mom appreciates the convenience and availability of all the resources WW offers. It was the best decision we could have made!

There are many things I love about living at Waltonwood Lakeside Assisted Living. The food, the people, the atmosphere, and the location! They have very tasty options for meals and I like the variety! The atmosphere is very nice and relaxing with lots of fun activities. The location is large and easy to get around and I very much enjoy the courtyard and the gazebo by the water that we walk down to. The people are very cool, helpful, and friendly to me since day 1. I would suggest to anyone to come see what Lakeside has to offer.

My parents moved in 5 months ago. The community is exemplary. The staff is courteous and concerned for the residents. Concierge staff is always pleasant and professional. Food is excellent. The environment is clean, well lit and there are many activities for the residents to partake. The administrative team which brings in outside entertainers such as dinner music, vocalists, therapy animals and holiday themed activities keeps the community happily active. Many residents can be frequently seen in the common areas. This community has “their act together” and strives to meet the many and varied needs of the residents. We are very happy to be a part of this community.

Our dad has lived on the Memory Care Unit for almost 2 years. Our parents had lived in a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment in the Independent side before Dad was moved to Memory Care. We visited a number of other Memory Care facilities before keeping Dad at Waltonwood Lakeside. The Lakeside Community has been a great experience for us. We have had the pleasure to get to know residents and staff, especially the Life Enrichment staff, Tonya and Joleen, and Oliver the driver. They treat Dad like family. It was the staff that made our decision easy to keep our dad at Waltonwood. The activities, at Waltonwood and venturing outside the facility, have been great. Looking forward to future activities once they start again due to the covid shutdown.

In my short tenure as a Waltonwood associate, I could not be more pleased and delighted to work alongside such caring and compassionate people. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the residents and spending my time ensuring they are having the most engaged and pleasant time possible. I look at myself as a guest in their home and I can’t wait to one day live here myself! Waltonwood Lakeside is a wonderful place to live and work and I am so grateful to be here.

I have worked for Waltonwood of Lakeside for 6 years. I truly love working for Waltonwood. When talking to employees in all the departments, we all agree that the residents come first, and they are the reason we smile all day! Management is kind and respectful toward the employees and we, as employees are appreciated.

Waltonwood has exceeded expectations. My mother and father moved into independent living five years ago, and the facility has been consistently maintained to a high level, but the biggest impact is the staff. From their transportation team led by Oliver, to the administration and food service personnel, they have made Waltonwood feel like family.

My review is different from most. I worked with Waltonwood for the month of January to help my sister with moving her husband to an apartment. When I started the process, he was hoping to move in in early February. His health took a turn for the worst and he passed on 2/1. Waltonwood showed our family such kindness and compassion throughout the entire process, even when I had to cancel the apartment. They have reached out to continue a relationship with my sister and me and we look forward to attending the Taste of Waltonwood. When the time comes for either of us need assistance, Waltonwood is top on our list!

From my very first day at Waltonwood I knew that my daughters had found a special place for me in my later years. After being alone since 2004, 20 years has seen the waning of friendships due to passings or simple inconvenience. Waltonwood brought a whole new life available to me. Activities, good food, new friendships were all in the offering as well as the freedom of having my car available to me. It also relieved some of the burden on my family. I highly recommend Waltonwood as an extension of a new life for those with needs like mine.

Lakeside All Waltonwoods have activities, entertainment, housekeeping, caregivers, servers, chefs, marketing teams, receptionists, and an executive director. So now, here is my take. Its March 2009, Joe has finished his Heartland Rehab. TIME to choose one last move. Only one chance to get it right- TIME to do the right thing. Two rollators in one house are one too many. Finding an Assisted Living home is down to three choices. First optionñ long forgotten, second- Sunrise, third- Waltonwood Lakeside. Trying to find the right fit. Checked out Royal Oak, no offence the fridge was small and it fit under the counter. It was Saturday, refundable deposits in place, time to pick up Carol, Melanie, and Joe. First option- a resounding no. At Sunrise Carol asked Dad- do you have any questions, ìno, but I have some suggestions!î. Their ìcoffee shopî couldnít close the deal. Last stop, Lakeside. Cathy the Marketing Agent showed Joe what I already felt was the right choice. Lakeside Assisted Living only about 3 years old at the time, had kind of a new car look and smell to it. Had a gazebo on the lake where you can watch the loons, ducks, geese, and sometimes swans. It was Saturday, kind of a quiet day much like home- it would work for us. So, no need to refund our deposit. One more question, when the time comes, do you have hospice care? Move in day was April 1st 2009. When the lease for 2010 was due, I asked Joe ìshould we sign it?î. A quiet answer, ìWhere would we go?î. Joe died peacefully 11 days later. Now, almost 14 years later, Iím still home. Elaine M Ewing Without an office, ìMayorî of Waltonwood Lakeside.

Waltonwood is more like a family than a job! The staff members are awesome and resourceful at all times

I have lived here for almost 2 years and it has been really nice. Let’s forget 2020 since we couldn’t do the regular fun things. But the staff still kept things going in smaller groups during this time. We have parties that include the whole family with games, animals, hay rides, lots of things for kids and elders. Halloween is a blast when residents get dressed up to give treats to the children. The staff is great and friendly. There are many things to do. We go on day trips, out shopping, The bus also takes for doctor appointments. Not enough room for everything. Just check Waltonwoods Lakeside out and I’m sure you will like it.

I have been working at waltonwood lakeside for almost five years now. Throughout my time here it has became evident at how invested our staff is to our residents. I would like to specifically mention the life entrenchment team here at waltonwood lakeside for ensuring that all of our residents are participating in activities that they enjoy, therefore improving their quality of life.

I had been seeking respite for my mom and although I didn’t utilize it I felt like waltonwood was there for me. The outreach and support from Melissa was the best She periodically checked in with me, offered support and encouragement. It was only my own schedule that prohibited me from coordinating a visit. And my mom passed suddenly so no longer looking for care. Thank you Melissa for all your help & support

I recently had the pleasure of spending a respite at Waltonwood Lakeside. The atmosphere is very homey. The caregivers are professional yet friendly. The food is good with lots of choices. There is a lot of variety when you include the items always available in case an entree doesn’t appeal to you. There are many outings and in house activities. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit!

Although my plans changed and I was not able to become a resident of Waltonwood at Lakeside, I was most impressed with my interaction with Melissa Wright, the Marketing Manager. I was residing in Florida and was exploring a permanent move to Michigan. Melissa went out of her way to help me make a decision. She supplied pictures/videos of possible units, answered all my questions in a timely and courteous manner and kept in touch while I tried to make a decision. Waltonwood is lucky to have her on staff.

My mother has been a resident at Waltonwood for over 5 years, in all three levels of resident living. Tonya Wilson and the Life Enrichment staff, are outstanding! We have been very happy with all the staff and Health Care Heroes here at Waltonwood. Thank you all for your kindness!

Please let me say what a treasure Lakeside is. The staff have been such a blessing to me I cannot even express it accurately. My mother has a few medical medical issues that became too daunting for me to take care of. I reluctantly had to find a care facility for her. Lakeside is a miracle. They see to her every need. Physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually. They are like family and treat her, and me, as such. What was the hardest decision for me was made so much easier because of the quality of care every single person on the property delivers daily. The standard of excellence is real. Food is wonderful. Cleanliness wonderful. Scenic views. Beautiful, convenient location. Excellent amenities. But the number one thing about Lakeside is the people. From the driver to the Director. Everyone. Their kindness, thoughtfulness, compassion and care goes beyond doing their job. These people have amazing hearts and truly care about the residents. I know that my mother is not only safe but is loved, cared for and enjoying her time at Lakeside. That’s worth everything. Thank you.

I give thanks every day that my son helped my husband and I move into Independent Living over 6 years ago. The staff is so friendly and they provide a great variety of activities throughout the week, from balance classes to aerobic drumming to wifi bowling and more. I will be glad when the dining room can reopen.

Life enrichment is always finding new, innovated ways to engage the residents in activities around the community.

My favorite thing about living at Waltonwood Cherry Hill is the peace and quiet. The people are all nice. I enjoy them. I enjoy the sandwich shop. I think itís a good feature. I also like the way the office is run and management.

Both of my parents started out in the Independent Living side at the beginning of 2020. They were moved to Assisted Living in the summer of 2020. The staff has been so accomodating and friendly. My Mom recently passed away in her assisted living apartment and the staff went above and beyond to make sure that my Mom was taken well care of. The entire staff was very kind and compassionate, especially during her last days. That meant so much to our family!! My Dad is currently still a resident in their Memory Care Unit and they are so good with him!! They make sure he is ok, especially since my Mom is now gone. My family is very thankful and grateful to the Walton Wood Staff for taking such great care of our precious parents!!
