I recently toured Waltonwood Main and wow! What a beautiful community and such a warm and inviting atmosphere. Lots of friendly staff members and the residents looked really happy to be there.

Had a good time on the Boat Trip, wonderful lunch and great view from the boat. I enjoyed myself.

My husband and I moved here over 6 months ago because it was important to us to have both Assisted Living and Memory Care in the same building. We love our new apartment and the staff is very helpful. With all the people living here, it amazes me how quickly the staff knew us by name.

I’ve been an employee at Waltonwood Main now for over 10 years and I really enjoy the family-like atmosphere. The management team is the best we have ever had, and I really enjoy working with them. There are quite a few employees that have been here over 5, 8 and 10 years which really speaks a lot about the community.

We reviewed some other assisted living/memory care facilities and here is one, albeit small, reason that made us choose Waltonwood Main: When we visited the facility a few times prior to enrolling my mother, I noticed one or two residents sometimes sitting next to the care workers at their work counter/nursing station. Like my mother, we observed that some other residents also seemed to have the desire to be close to others, if only to sit next to someone. I was touched by that and I also knew that any care facility, no matter the lofty price paid or fancy decor, is of little value unless the care workers, well, really care. It seems that in the month my mother has been a resident she has gained the affection of the workers and, yes, she does sometimes sit behind the nursing station. I have not met all of the workers of the three shifts but my first impressions of what I felt has not changed since my initial encounter during the reviewing process. My sister and I have slowly been appreciating the care workers more and more as time goes on and we are thus far glad that my mom is in a good place. I had mentioned to the staff once that our mom is a very precious commodity to us just as their mothers are to themselves. Undoubtably, you the reader feel the same of your parent and from my perspective I can tell you that your parent will most probably be as happy as can expected be at Waltonwood Main.

It’s been a couple of years since my parents were residents at the Waltonwood on Main. Kathleen Sable was the best part of our experience. She always had creative and interactive activities to help keep my parents entertained and stimulated their brains. After my mom past away in 2018 she kept my dad’s spirits up as best as possible. He grew to trust her even more than most of the caretakers. During his last days he went to her due to pain in his abdomen because she showed him such love and dedication. I will always be grateful to her for putting a smile on my parents’ faces during their twilight years.

My dad is 90 years old and has been living at Waltonwood Main for 1 1/2 years. He is very happy living there. Dad has always been a foodie and frequently says the food here is like home made. Though he says my pie crusts are better. I highly recommend Waltonwood Main. The people that work, there are skilled, very friendly and helpful. I hear them greet the seniors who live there by their names all the time. I know my dad is in a safe place. There are lots of interesting family activities, daily activities and ìfield trips ì. Sometimes they just gather up some of the folks and take a short drive to get ice cream. Waltonwood Main is well-maintained. The building and grounds are inviting. Dad likes reading in the courtyard. The rooms are cleaned weekly, I like how fresh his laundry smells and how soft his towels are. I appreciate their attention to detail. Thank you for taking such great care of my 90 year old father. I really appreciate all that you do for him.

The quality of care that all staff provide for the patients is well above average.

I’ve worked at Waltonwood Main for 3 years now and am happy to be apart of this family. It’s refreshing to know that our team cares for each resident like extended family. This company offers upward mobility and gives each employee an opportunity to grow. I would recommend Waltonwood Main as a new home or a new job!

My mother has lived at Waltonwood on Main for over a year. The entire staff (virtually every department- including: Administration, Caregivers, Med Techs, Activities, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Dining) genuinely takes interest and provides compassionate care with sincere interest in each resident. Their extra efforts have become particularly evident as a result of the added challenges that the COVID quarantine has imposed since in mid-March 2020. Communication regarding Covid is very good with weekly conference calls. Personalized updates are available at any time upon request. Kathleen (Memory Care Activities Manager) has added more craft and art projects since they are particularly suited to my mother’s interests. I would recommend Waltonwood on Main to friends for their family members.

Waltonwood Main in Rochester, Michigan has an amazing Life Enrichment Program. My Mom is in memory care. This facility has caring wonderful employees who really take time with my Mom. From Forever Fit after breakfast, noodle ball, sing-a-longs, music bingo, crafts weekly, favorite recipes, movies, guest entertainment, weekly scenic rides on the bus are just some of the activities for people to participate. Sometimes, Mom says she feels like she is in a hotel.????????????????????????????

I have worked here at Main as the AL Life Enrichment Manager for almost 12 years. My longevity with the community has a lot to do with the wonderful associates, residents and families that I have had the pleasure to work with and serve in this role. I especially love how homey the community feels because its small enough that you really can get to know everyone well.

The staff at Waltonwood really shows care and respect toward the residents. The personal concern and individualized attention is evident. Recommend looking into Waltonwood for your loved ones!

Caring for our mom over the past year of her dementia journey has been exhausting and stressful. Went through the on-boarding process with another sr living company thatís in the area and backed out due to terrible communication. We couldnít be happier with the professionalism and positive interaction from all members of the team here. Our mom can be ìroughî and for her to comment how nice, helpful and respectful everyone has been to her was very unexpected but confirms we definitely made the right decision.

i am currently looking for a place for my mom and i have toured many places near waltonwood. still trying to figure out what is best for mom, but the tour i had was the most personal. walking in to the building instantly it had a home like setting. we met many staff on the tour and many of them stopped to say hi. iím hoping when we bring mom in she sees what i seen and chooses this place to call home.

My mother has been part of the Waltonwood family for 5 years and most recently moved to memory care. I was told Kathleen, the MC Activities Director, was terrific and surely came to know that myself. Kathleen welcomed my mother into the group activities within minutes of her arrival. She assured me she would keep my mother engaged even if she first refused. My mother now tells me she is “going to see what’s going on” and enjoys her Kathleen activity filled days!

My friend, Irene Willson, was a resident at Waltonwood on Main for many years, first in assisted living and then in memory care. The care and caring she received was excellent. Specifically, I will address Kathleen’s contributions. As it became clear that Irene would be moving to memory care soon, Kathleen allowed her to come down to MC craft activities to “assist” her with the MC residents. Irene had been a preschool teacher and this allowed her to both become familiar with MC and to have a sense of dignity while doing this. This was such a big help in her transition to MC. Kathleen was also open and encouraging for my mother to come to MC activities and events. Irene and my mother (who lived with me) had been friends for over 50 years and this allowed Irene to feel a connection with her prior life and was fun for both of them. At their ages (my mom was in her 90’s) there just are not that many old friends around. As to the activities that Kathleen offered (and I’m sure still offers) the MC residents, I will say this: I am a psychologist and as my mother aged and experienced mild dementia and when I took on being the local “family” for Irene, I was constantly doing research on the latest research regarding the newest ideas for helping those with dementia function as well as possible, feel pleasure, and experience some sense of meaning to their lives. Kathleen has always been up-to-date evaluating the new ideas, adding different forms of musical stimulation, appropriate exercise opportunities, activities to help the residents feel useful (very important), and fun crafts (making cookies always seemed to be a winner), field trips, etc. At least as important, she clearly feels deep caring and empathy for the MC residents who are under her care. I am very thankful not only for the part Kathleen played in Irene’s life, but also for the part she played in my mother’s and my life.
